The Lubéron is one of our fondest memories of a trip to France with our 2 children. We liked everything! The perched villages, the walks in the Luberon massifs in the middle of the immense cedars and the incredible colors of the ochres.

We made several family stays in the Jura. This French department has many assets for holidays in France with children: you are green and it is a cheap destination. You can go there all year round, for walks, snowshoeing, skiing in family ski resorts but also swimming in one of the many lakes in summer.

The banks of the Loire is an ideal family destination in France for a stay that combines nature and culture. With our children, we of course visited the most beautiful castles of the Loire, a few towns, the Beauval zoo. You can make beautiful outings by bike or on foot along the Loire, watch the birds.

14. Vercors in the Northern Alps
As we grew up and live near the Vercors, we know this massif of the Alps like the back of our hand. We often go there with our children for short easy walks or more demanding hikes.
The Vercors is one of those alpine massifs suitable for stays in the mountains with children. Its advantage is to be a destination with cheaper family accommodation than in other massifs of the Alps. Our children were 1 and 3 years old when we spent 3 weeks of family holidays in Queyras, one of the most beautiful wild and preserved places in France. The asset of this massif of the Southern Alps are spectacular landscapes, many lakes accessible with children and authentic villages where time has stood still.
